Chocolate Fudge Bread and Butter Pudding Recipe
A rich, comforting and indulgent dessert made with Fudge Kitchen chocolate fudge.
6 slices of bread, crusts cut off
1 and half tablespoons sugar
150ml single cream
2 slices Chocolate Classic fudge, diced
Pinch of ground cinnamon
Butter the bread and layer in buttered pie dish, butter side up. Whisk together the eggs with a tablespoon of sugar and cinnamon, add milk and cream. Pour over bread, soak for an hour. Add fudge and place in preheated oven at 140C (Gas mark 1). Sprinkle with remaining sugar and bake for 1 ½ hours.
Fudge Crunchy Cakes
Adding Fudge Kitchen fudge gives these old favourites a real touch of class.
30g/1oz of butter
1 tablespoon of Golden Syrup
115g/4oz of Cornflakes or Rice Krispies
1 slice of either Vintage Vanilla, Traditional Toffee, or Chocolate Classic fudge cubed
Melt the butter and syrup together in a saucepan over a low heat.
Add the cubed fudge followed by the cornflakes, just as the fudge is starting to melt.
When mixed and melted spoon the mixture into cake cases and leave to cool – makes approximately 16-18 cakes.
As an optional extra, top the cakes with a small cube of fudge or your favourite sweets.
Fudge Malt Smoothie
This makes a fantastic pick me up or breakfast meal – its traditional ice cream parlour food in the States.
6 small chunks of Fudge Kitchen Vintage Vanilla fudge (about 30g/1oz)
2 teaspoons of Horlicks
2 scoops good quality Vanilla ice cream
285ml/Half a pint of milk
Put all the ingredients into a blender and whizz twice for thirty seconds. Pour out the thick shake into a chilled long glass, and add a thick straw to suck it up.
Makes 2/3 pint/400ml, so you could share it with a friend, or keep topping up your glass and scoff it all yourself! Try different flavours of fudge, or if you are a coffee addict, add a jigger of strong espresso for a Coffee Malt - mmmm!!
Mocha Fudge Crème Brulee
A rich and luxurious dessert, ideal for dinner parties.
450ml/1 pint double cream
1 vanilla pod, split lengthways
5 egg yolks
2 tablespoons caster sugar
1 slice Mocha Choca Swirl fudge, diced
Warm the cream in a saucepan with the vanilla pod. Meanwhile beat egg yolks with sugar until creamed.
Whisk the warm cream and the egg mixture together.Pour into ramekins and place them in a roasting dish half filled with water. Put 2-3 cubes of fudge into each ramekin. Bake for 40-50 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius or until set.
When ready to serve top with Demerara sugar and caramelise under a hot grill.
