Celebrating Local Partners
We like to kick off the new year with something fresh, new, and tasty; from reinventing classic favourites, to whipping up flavours that've never been attempted before! New Year, New Flavour is one of the most anticipated events in the fudgemaker's calendar - and this year they certainly didn't disappoint. Briefed to find a local artisan producer or merchant, each team had a month to develop, test, and sample an exciting new flavour and submit it to be judged by our panel of expert fudge judges. Here's what they came up with:
2021 submissions.

Judgin' fudges.
On Thursday 27th January a top team of fudge experts and connoisseurs tackled all six submitted flavours, marking and making notes on each one's texture, taste, and appearance. This year our judging panel consisted of some members of our HQ team, Sales team, and a mix of top confectioners from our Aylesham production kitchen. After much deliberation the winning flavour was crowned: |
|
Butter Pecan Fudgefrom CambridgeAn innovative flavour made with butter melted in the pan before adding any additional ingredients. This flavour was also made without our signature whipping cream! |
|
This beautifully rich, lightly salted fudge earned almost unanimous praise for its well-balanced salty-sweet taste, traditional fudgy colour, and smooth buttery texture. Congratulations to the team for Cambridge team for knocking this one out of the park! Great job. |
