Caring for your fudge
Our slab fudge is freshly made and should keep at its best for up to 10 days, but whether you can wait that long is another matter.
Store your fudge at room temperature, as the sugar in the fudge acts as a natural preservative. DO NOT REFRIGERATE it, as this can affect the colour and texture of the fudge. Humidity and sudden changes in temperature may affect the firmness of your fudge.
Gourmet all-butter fudge, drinking fudge and luxury fudge sauces can be stored for up to 6 months (check best before end date). Store all fudges in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
All our fudge is made with love and that feeling you get when you see a sausage dog in a little coat. Oh yes, we only select the finest ingredients; sourcing locally when possible, and never using artificial colourings, flavourings, or preservatives. gluten-free, vegetarian friendly and some are suitable for vegans too.
View our product pages for the ingredient listing and allergens of the specific fudge or confectionery.
All of our fudge and confectionery is vegetarian friendly; all ingredients and allergens are clearly labelled on our product pages.
Our fudges are gluten-free and vegetarian friendly unless stated otherwise. All ingredients and allergens are labelled on our product pages.
Our slab fudge is available in thick, luxurious slices, weighing approximately 185 grams / H 65 x W 115 x D 23 mm. Size stated is approximate only, all fudges are hand-sculpted, hand-cut, and may vary depending on the fudge maker, and potentially the volume of coffee consumed by said fudge maker.
If you have oodles of willpower and want to save your fudge for later, it freezes well. Wrap each slice (or the whole box) in foil or plastic wrap to seal it. You don’t even have to defrost it – your fudge tastes just as scrumptious frozen and cuts easily with a knife, or better still, grate directly onto ice-cream. To defrost, unwrap for at least two hours in a cool, dark place.
Let your fudge thaw in a cool environment, unwrapped and standing on its greaseproof sheet. If at first a shiny stickiness appears on the surface, this will clear in time, but it helps if it is not in a hot or humid atmosphere.
Your fudge is handmade and like the people who make it, every batch is slightly different. Some are slightly softer and runnier while some have a bit more bite… but every piece will be smooth and creamy. Embrace the different textures and flavours of your fudge.
We’d love it if you never threw your fudge away. Even if your fudge has been forgotten at the back of a cupboard or in a shoe box under the bed whilst you took a sabbatical in darkest Peru, spent a gap year on the Sea of Tranquillity, or sat in a traffic jam on the M25 (which, let’s face it, can take years to get out of), you can still enjoy your fudge when you get back. Just melt the fudgy goodness in the microwave in short 10-second bursts, or gently warm on the hob with a splash of cream or high fat milk, and pour that bad boy on the nearest thing you can find – ice cream, waffles… or into the bathtub for a shamelessly decadent fudge bath experience! Anything. Lovely.
Some fudge flavours may arrive softer than others depending on temperature, humidity and ingredients. For example, fudge flavours which contain alcohol, sea salt, clotted cream, or do not contain cocoa, are more susceptible to atmospheric changes during delivery. If you prefer a firmer fudge, do not fear, simply unwrap the fudge and leave open in a cool dark place away from sunlight, The sugar in the fudge acts as a natural preservative. DO NOT REFRIGERATE it, as this can affect the colour and texture of the fudge. Your fudge will firm-up within 3–6 days and will be at its best for a further 10 days once it has reached a firm texture.

Our fudge flavours change regularly, so if you book your delivery in advance, check with our customer services department that your chosen flavour will still be available at the time of delivery. In the rare occurrence that a flavour is unavailable on the day of your delivery, our artisan fudge making team will include a substitute carefully selected as a close alternative to the original choice in your fudge box. We'll note any substitutions in your order on a substitution card, so they're easy to spot.
If you would like to leave a substitution note, please leave a comment when placing your order, such as "Subs: No Chocolate". If you'd rather we didn't send you substitutions, let us know that you don't want substitutions by writing "No Substitutions" in the order comments box.
