Our first pop-up factory shop on 27th November was a resounding triumph. Forget the boughs of holly – the Fudge Kitchen production facility in Aylesham, Kent was decked with fudge. But not for long …
The response to a sneak peak behind the fudge making scenes, the chance to meet our talented team of Oompah Loompahs; plus the opportunity to buy factory price Christmas gifts, whilst clutching a steaming mulled wine and seriously sampling en route …. was understandably keen.
For us it was the ideal opportunity to meet some of our customers and to get some crucial feedback from them, not least on three brand new recipes that we tried out on our open day visitors.
Many thanks to those magnanimous fudge guinea pigs who selflessly ploughed through Gingerbread and Double Layered Chocolate and Seasalted Caramel. It was an understandably tough call to make, but after (much) sampling, some greatly appreciated filling in of questionnaires, Chocolate Caramel was the undisputed winner and will be rewarded with the honour of joining the Fudge Kitchen’s eternally growing family of flavours.
With just one more scheduled before Christmas on 5th December between 4 and 8pm (that’s tomorrow, people), check out the details at: http://www.fudgekitchen.co.uk/brochure/openday.pdf and stick the date in your diary with a Fudge Alert.
Meanwhile, Fudge Kitchen have been wall to wall exhibiting at consumer shows from the Ideal Home Show to the Festive Gift Show, with a particularly impressive (and rammed) double stand presence at last week’s BBC Good Food Show Winter: one given over to Whipping Cream fudge and one to the Gourmet Butter Fudge range.
With the mighty Patch and Dan respectively at the helms, we had ourselves a major Fudge Off on sales. It was a close run thing, but we can exclusively announce here that the Fudge King crown goes to Dan and the H80 stand. Dan, we salute you!
And, with no exhibition let-up in sight, the Fudge Kitchen team are now readying themselves to join near on 1,500 exhibitors in Cologne for ISM, the world’s largest confectionary trade fair. Not a dieter’s destination. More on that soon ….
